Replace the with a dashboard built onyour Shopify data.
I build dashboards that read your Shopify store and show what to reorder, what to stop buying, where your margin is real and how the week went. One senior developer from scope to launch, and the code is yours.
What is a custom Shopify dashboard?
A custom Shopify dashboard is a private web app. It reads your store’s orders, products, inventory and customers through Shopify’s Admin API, then shows the numbers your team actually decides with: reorder quantities, dead stock, margin after cost price. It runs outside your theme, so your storefront stays exactly as fast as it is today.
When Shopify’s own reports stop being enough.
Shopify Analytics tells you what sold. It doesn’t know your cost prices or which vendor to reorder from, and it won’t email your co-founder a summary on Monday morning.
So most growing brands end up exporting CSVs into a spreadsheet that one person maintains and everyone else is scared to touch. A dashboard on your own data answers the questions specific to your business, and it keeps working when the person who owns the spreadsheet is on leave.
What I built for a D2C brand.
BrandDesk is the merchandising dashboard I built for a D2C brand with about 2,000 products and more than 100,000 orders. The founders check it on their phones, and the growth team works in it on a laptop. Every page opens with the answer a founder came for, with the working detail underneath.
BrandDesk reads the store through read-only access and Shopify webhooks, so it can’t change anything in the store. It’s built with Next.js and Supabase and hosted on Vercel.
- An overview of sales, stock-outs and cash tied up in inventory, readable on a phone.
- Sales and customer analytics, plus brand and product health: which brands are growing and where the margin is real.
- Stock forecasting in plain language, with a small ⓘ explainer next to any number a founder might question.
- A dead-stock view that shows what to stop buying and how much cash is sitting on the shelf.
- Real margins, using cost prices imported from the brand’s accounting software. Those prices stay in the dashboard and never reach Shopify.
- Merchandising suggestions that become purchase-order sheets. Vendors get a CSV, fill it in and send it back.
- Catalogue and tag management, and reports the team can export.
- A Monday founder brief that lands in the founders’ inbox every week.
- Rupees with lakh and crore grouping. Unknown values show as unknown, never as zero.
What your dashboard can show.
Every dashboard starts from the questions you ask each week. These are the common ones.
Inventory forecasting
Forecasts and reorder points by product, brand or vendor.
Real margin
Margin after product cost and discounts, plus any fees you can give me data for.
Dead stock
Slow movers and dead stock, with the cash they hold.
Repeat purchase
Repeat purchase and customer cohorts.
Returns and RTO
Where your courier or checkout app can export the data.
Scheduled summaries
A summary by email, to the people and on the day you choose.
If an app you can install today already answers your questions, use the app. I’ll tell you that on the first call. My notes on the apps I’d install first as an Indian D2C brand are a good place to check.
Custom dashboard, Shopify Analytics or an analytics app
The Shopify limits that shape a dashboard project, and the three ways to get your numbers compared.
of order history an app can read by default. Full history needs the read_all_orders permission and a one-time backfill.

Shopify releases a new Admin API version, and supports each one for at least 12 months.

is how I connect a dashboard by default, so it can read orders, products and inventory but can’t edit them.

| Where the data lives | Shopify | The app vendor | Your own database |
How a dashboard project runs.
You give me read-only access. I map your questions to the data Shopify actually has, then build one working report on your real numbers. You see it before you commit to more, and the fee is credited to the build if you go ahead.
You get a fixed price, a timeline and a Definition of Done in writing. Most dashboard builds take 45 to 60 days. You pay 30% to start, 30% at the agreed milestone and 40% at delivery.
I build the pages in the order you’ll use them. The code and IP are assigned to you.
Shopify releases a new API version every quarter. If you want me to keep the dashboard current and add pages as new questions come up, that runs inside a monthly retainer.
Dashboard prices, in INR and USD.
Retainers are 10% off with a 6-month commitment and 20% off with 12 months. No GST is added to any price.
- Data sources: how many there are beyond Shopify.
- Pages: how many you want.
- Order history: by default, Shopify only lets apps read the last 60 days of orders. Full history needs an extra permission and a one-time backfill.
- Customer data: customer-level reports fall under Shopify’s protected customer data rules, which add setup work.
Every price I charge is on one pricing page.
Scoping sprint
Seeing one real report before you commit. Credited to the build.
Custom dashboard build
A private dashboard on your Shopify data
Upkeep and new pages
Keeping it current as the business changes
Questions founders ask first.
How much does a custom Shopify dashboard cost?
+
₹1,20,000 to ₹5,00,000 for Indian brands, or $2,000 to $8,000 for international brands. You get a fixed price after a ₹40,000 / $750 scoping sprint, which is credited to the build. Where you land depends on your data sources, how much order history you need and how many pages you want.
Can a dashboard forecast inventory for my Shopify store?
+
Yes. BrandDesk forecasts stock from sales history and shows reorder suggestions in plain language, with an explainer beside each number. Forecasts improve with more history. Brand-new products need a manual starting point.
Will a custom dashboard slow down my store?
+
No. It runs on its own hosting and reads your data through Shopify’s Admin API. Your theme and storefront aren’t touched.
Can the dashboard change anything in my store?
+
Only if you want it to. I build dashboards with read-only access by default, so they can read orders, products and inventory but can’t edit them.
Can it use cost prices that aren’t in Shopify?
+
Yes. BrandDesk imports cost prices from the brand’s accounting software and keeps them only in the dashboard, so they never show up in Shopify.
Can it email us a weekly summary?
+
Yes. BrandDesk sends the founders a brief every Monday. You choose the numbers, the people and the day.
What’s the difference between Shopify Analytics and a custom dashboard?
+
Shopify Analytics reports on what happened in your store. A custom dashboard adds your own data, such as cost prices and vendors, and answers your specific questions, such as what to reorder and what to stop buying.
How long does it take to build a custom Shopify dashboard?
+
Most take 45 to 60 days from the agreed scope. Your written scope gives the exact timeline.
Who owns the dashboard?
+
You do. The code and IP are assigned to you at handover.
Do you build dashboards for brands outside India?
+
Yes. I work from New Delhi (IST) with brands in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the UAE, and international work is priced in USD.
Tell me the three numbers you check every Monday.
Start a brief with the questions your team asks each week. I’ll reply within 24 hours and tell you whether a dashboard is worth building, or whether an app you can install today already does the job.
