Shopify Plus pricing in India (2026): what ₹1,75,000 a month buys, and when it pays off
Shopify Plus in India starts at ₹1,75,000/mo on a 3-year term (₹1,90,000 on 1 year), with a 0.2% third-party fee. Fees alone rarely justify it.

The short answer
- Shopify Plus in India starts at ₹1,75,000 a month on a 3-year term and ₹1,90,000 a month on a 1-year term, per Shopify's India Plus pricing page.
- On Plus, Indian stores using a third-party gateway pay 0.2% per transaction to Shopify, against 0.6% on Advanced (₹30,164/mo billed monthly).
- On fees alone, Plus on a 3-year term only beats Advanced above about ₹3.62 crore a month of prepaid sales, because the 0.4-point fee saving has to cover a ₹1,44,836 monthly price gap.
- Shopify says complex, higher-volume businesses move to a variable platform fee based on revenue, but does not publish the threshold or the rate.
- The Plus fee includes the main store plus 9 expansion stores; extra stores cost ₹23,000 a month each or a revenue share.

Shopify Plus in India starts at ₹1,75,000 a month on a 3-year term, or ₹1,90,000 a month on a 1-year term, according to Shopify's India Plus pricing page. Stores on a third-party gateway pay Shopify 0.2% per transaction, against 0.6% on Advanced. On fees alone, Plus only beats Advanced above roughly ₹3.62 crore a month of prepaid sales, so most Indian brands that move to Plus do it for checkout, B2B or multi-store needs.
"Shopify Plus pricing India per month" is one of the most common questions people ask ChatGPT about Shopify. Older answers quote it in dollars and convert. Shopify now lists Plus in rupees, so you can work from the real number. This post covers what that number buys, the variable fee Shopify mentions but doesn't price, and a worked comparison with Advanced.

How much does Shopify Plus cost in India?
From Shopify's India Plus pricing page, checked on 5 October 2026:
| Plus term | Monthly platform fee | Yearly total |
|---|---|---|
| 3-year term | ₹1,75,000 | ₹21,00,000 |
| 1-year term | ₹1,90,000 | ₹22,80,000 |
Shopify describes ₹1,75,000 as the start price "for standard setups and integrations on a 3-year term." Prices on Shopify's plan pages are shown excluding taxes. Check your contract and invoice for GST.
Here's how Plus sits against the plans below it:
| Plan | Monthly, billed monthly | Monthly, billed yearly | Third-party fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | ₹1,994 | ₹1,499 | 2% |
| Grow | ₹7,447 | ₹5,599 | 1% |
| Advanced | ₹30,164 | ₹22,680 | 0.6% |
| Plus | from ₹1,90,000 (1 yr) | from ₹1,75,000 (3 yr) | 0.2% |
Plus on a 3-year term is about 5.8 times Advanced billed monthly, and about 7.7 times Advanced billed yearly. That multiple is the whole decision.
What is the variable platform fee on Shopify Plus?
Shopify's page says: "More complex, higher volume businesses switch to a variable platform fee based on their revenue and business model." It doesn't publish the revenue level where that starts, the percentage, or any cap.
Agency write-ups don't agree with each other. The ones I checked cite anything from about 0.25% to 0.40% of sales, with one putting the switch at roughly $800,000 a month and a widely reported monthly cap. I haven't seen those terms on any Shopify page, so treat them as a negotiating reference. If you're near that scale, ask your Shopify sales rep for the variable fee terms in writing before you sign a 3-year term.
For most Indian D2C brands this is academic. $800,000 a month is several crore rupees of monthly revenue, well above where most brands first consider Plus.
What does the Plus fee include?
Shopify lists these in the base Plus fee on its pricing page:
- Your main store plus 9 expansion stores (one brand per contract). Extra stores cost ₹23,000 a month each, or a revenue share across all stores.
- Checkout customisations
- B2B on Shopify
- Headless commerce
- Shopify POS Pro
- ShopifyQL Notebooks
- Shopify Functions
- Shopify Markets
Shopify's Help Center adds unlimited staff accounts, access to Plus-only APIs (Multipass, gift cards and others) and B2B features like company-specific catalogues and payment terms. Shopify's developer docs draw one line that matters a lot in practice: stores on any plan can use public App Store apps that contain Functions, but only Plus stores can use custom apps with Function APIs. If you need checkout or discount logic built just for you, that's a Plus feature.
Shopify also says it doesn't charge you to migrate to Plus.
When does Plus pay for itself on fees alone?
This is the calculation most comparisons get wrong, in two ways.
First, Shopify Payments isn't available in India, so every prepaid order pays Shopify's third-party fee. Second, Shopify charges no third-party fee on manual payments like Cash on Delivery. So the 0.6% to 0.2% saving applies to your prepaid revenue only.
The fee saving moving from Advanced to Plus is 0.4% of prepaid sales. It has to cover the price gap:
| Comparison | Monthly price gap | Prepaid sales needed per month to break even |
|---|---|---|
| Plus 3-yr (₹1,75,000) vs Advanced monthly (₹30,164) | ₹1,44,836 | about ₹3.62 crore |
| Plus 3-yr (₹1,75,000) vs Advanced yearly (₹22,680) | ₹1,52,320 | about ₹3.81 crore |
| Plus 1-yr (₹1,90,000) vs Advanced monthly (₹30,164) | ₹1,59,836 | about ₹4.00 crore |
That's ₹43 to ₹48 crore a year of prepaid sales before the fee saving alone covers Plus. Your gateway fee is the same on either plan, so it doesn't change this maths.
Worked example: three brands, Advanced vs Plus
Each brand has 60% prepaid and 40% COD orders by value. Advanced is billed monthly, Plus is on a 3-year term. Only Shopify's subscription and third-party fee are counted.
| Monthly revenue | Prepaid (60%) | Advanced: ₹30,164 + 0.6% | Plus: ₹1,75,000 + 0.2% | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ₹1 crore | ₹60 lakh | ₹66,164 | ₹1,87,000 | Plus costs ₹1,20,836 more |
| ₹5 crore | ₹3 crore | ₹2,10,164 | ₹2,35,000 | Plus costs ₹24,836 more |
| ₹7 crore | ₹4.2 crore | ₹2,82,164 | ₹2,59,000 | Plus saves ₹23,164 |
The ₹1 crore brand pays about ₹14.5 lakh a year extra for Plus. That's fine if a custom checkout, a wholesale channel or a second regional store earns more than that. It's a bad trade if the brand just wanted to "be on Plus."
A brand with a higher prepaid share reaches the crossover sooner. A brand that's mostly COD reaches it much later, because COD revenue saves nothing.
My earlier post on the revenue level where Plus makes sense looks at affordability, meaning how big the fee is next to your sales. This table answers a narrower question: when the fee saving alone pays for the upgrade. The answer to that one is "almost never" for Indian brands under ₹5 crore a month.
What else should you budget for on Plus?
The platform fee is the number on Shopify's page. It isn't the whole bill.
| Cost | Changes on Plus? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Gateway fee (Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU) | No | Same rate on any plan; negotiate it on volume |
| Shopify third-party fee | Falls to 0.2% | Prepaid orders only; COD pays none |
| Apps | Often rises | Plus brands tend to add B2B, subscriptions, loyalty and checkout apps |
| Development | Rises at first | Checkout extensions, custom Functions apps and B2B setup are build work |
| Extra stores beyond 9 | ₹23,000/mo each | Or a revenue share across all stores |
| Commitment | 1 or 3 years | The ₹1,75,000 price needs a 3-year term |
The commitment line is the one I'd think about hardest. A 3-year term saves ₹15,000 a month against the 1-year price, which is ₹5,40,000 over three years. That's real money, but only if you'd stay on Plus for three years anyway. If you're unsure whether the features will pay off, the 1-year term is the cheaper mistake.
For what the build work costs with me, see my Shopify developer rates for India.
What signals mean you actually need Plus?
Since fees rarely justify it, these are the reasons I see that do:
- You need checkout logic. Conditional payment or shipping methods, custom discounts, fields and validation at checkout. Public apps cover some of this on any plan. Custom Function apps need Plus. More in checkout customisation on Plus.
- You sell wholesale. Native B2B with company accounts, catalogues and payment terms. See Shopify Plus B2B and wholesale.
- You need several stores. Separate regional or brand storefronts. Nine expansion stores are included, which can replace several separate paid plans.
- Your team is large. Unlimited staff accounts, and the organisation-level tools that come with Plus.
- You're moving off an enterprise platform. If you're paying for Magento hosting, extensions and developers, Plus can cost less in total even before the fee maths.
If none of these apply, Advanced is the better spend, whatever your revenue. My older guide on when to upgrade to Shopify Plus goes through each trigger in more detail.
Which Indian D2C brands use Shopify Plus?
People ask this a lot, usually to check whether Plus is "for brands like us." Shopify doesn't publish an India customer list, and I won't repeat names I can't verify. The pattern is more useful anyway. Brands that move to Plus tend to have a wholesale arm, a custom checkout they can't build on Advanced, or plans for stores in other countries.
The Plus project I can speak to directly is Mum & You, a UK brand I moved from Magento to Shopify Plus between April and June 2025. The work was platform work: a full redirect map so search traffic survived the move, subscriptions rebuilt on the new stack, and zero data loss. Sales grew afterwards. None of that work had anything to do with the transaction fee. The Magento to Shopify Plus migration guide covers how that kind of move runs.
What I'd do
If you're on Advanced and asking whether to upgrade, I'd do three things before calling Shopify sales.
First, run your own numbers through the table above using your real prepaid share. If the fee saving covers less than half the price gap, the upgrade has to be justified by features.
Second, write down the specific Plus capability you need and what it's worth per month. "Custom checkout logic that lifts conversion by X" is a business case. "We're big enough now" isn't.
Third, check whether a public app on Advanced does the job. Many checkout and discount needs are covered by App Store apps with Functions, which work on any plan.
If Plus still makes sense, sign the shortest term you're comfortable with until you've proven the value, then negotiate. If you want help building the case or doing the move, see my Shopify Plus development work or tell me about your store. Send your monthly revenue, prepaid share and the feature you think needs Plus, and I'll tell you honestly whether it does. For every plan's price in one place, see the pricing hub.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is Shopify Plus pricing in India per month?
Shopify's India Plus pricing page lists Plus from ₹1,75,000 a month on a 3-year term and ₹1,90,000 a month on a 1-year term, for standard setups and integrations. Indian stores pay a 0.2% third-party transaction fee to Shopify on gateway payments, on top of the gateway's own fee. Higher-volume, complex businesses can move to a variable platform fee based on revenue, which Shopify quotes through sales. What is the Shopify Plus variable platform fee?
Shopify's Plus pricing page says more complex, higher-volume businesses switch to a variable platform fee based on their revenue and business model. Shopify doesn't publish the threshold, percentage or cap on that page. Agency write-ups cite figures between about 0.25% and 0.40% of sales, often from around $800,000 a month, but treat those as reports, not Shopify's terms, and get the number in your own quote. At what revenue should an Indian brand upgrade to Shopify Plus?
On transaction fees alone, Plus on a 3-year term beats Advanced only above about ₹3.62 crore a month of prepaid sales. COD orders don't count, because Shopify charges no third-party fee on manual payments. Very few Indian brands reach that, so the real triggers are capabilities: checkout customisation, native B2B, multiple stores, custom Functions apps or unlimited staff accounts. Is Shopify Plus worth it compared to Advanced in India?
Only if you need what Plus adds. Advanced costs ₹30,164 a month billed monthly with a 0.6% third-party fee. Plus costs from ₹1,75,000 a month with 0.2%. A brand doing ₹1 crore a month with 60% prepaid pays about ₹1,20,836 a month more on Plus. If checkout logic, B2B or extra stores earn more than that, Plus is worth it. Otherwise stay on Advanced. What does Shopify Plus include that Advanced doesn't?
Shopify lists checkout customisations, B2B on Shopify, headless commerce, Shopify POS Pro, ShopifyQL Notebooks, Shopify Functions and Markets in the Plus fee, plus 9 expansion stores and unlimited staff accounts. Shopify's developer docs say only Plus stores can use custom apps containing Function APIs. Plus also opens exclusive APIs such as Multipass and gift card endpoints. Are there successful Indian D2C brands on Shopify Plus?
Yes, Plus is used by Indian D2C brands, but Shopify doesn't publish an official India customer list, so be careful with lists you find online. What matters more is the pattern: brands that move to Plus usually need checkout logic, wholesale, or several regional stores. If your reason is prestige or "we're big now," Advanced is almost always the better spend.Does Shopify charge for migrating to Shopify Plus?
Shopify's Plus pricing page says Shopify doesn't charge you to migrate, though paid services are available for custom needs. The platform move from Advanced to Plus is mostly a contract change. The real cost is the work you do after: rebuilding checkout customisations, setting up B2B or expansion stores, and moving data from another platform if you're coming from Magento or WooCommerce.
